Man charged with alleged sexual assaults on women in Derby

A man has been charged with two alleged sexual offences on women in the Normanton area of Derby.

Officers have been investigating a number of reports of sexual assaults on separate women in and around the Normanton area of the city.

Muhammad Jan of Nightingale Road, Derby has been charged with sexual assault, the 23-year-old appeared at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates Court yesterday, Wednesday 4 December, and was remanded in custody. He will next appear on 6 January at Derby Crown Court.

The officer investigating the alleged incidents, Detective Staff Investigator Jason Beardsley said: “We would like to speak to anyone with information relating to the incidents. There may be other victims out there that have not yet had the confidence to talk to us.”
