Parking issues around the Hope Valley

Alert message sent 27/07/2020 13:52:00

Information sent on behalf of Derbyshire Constabulary

Once again over the weekend parking around the Hope Valley was very busy with many examples of bad parking and poor knowledge of the highway code. A number of vehicles were issued fines from the council for parking on Clearways and double yellow lines in Edale and police officers issued fixed penalty tickets to vehicles in Castleton on both Saturday and Sunday for parking on double white system after receiving many complaints from local residents about the problem.
We are fully aware of the issues and we are trying to make the Civil Parking Enforcement Team at Derbyshire County Council aware of the problems and asking them to attend the problem areas but would encourage anyone to let the council know about vehicles parked on double / single yellow lines, Clearways (Mam Torr and centre of Edale) and limited waiting.
