'County Lines' input at Saint Philip Howard Catholic Voluntary Academy, Tuesday 26th March

Glossop SNT - School Engagement

PCSO Buller of Glossop YET (Youth Engagement Team) was invited to attend Saint Philip Howard Catholic Voluntary Academy, Sunlaw St, Glossop, today, Tuesday 26th March.

The team were there to complete inputs for all their year 8 students on 'County Lines' as part of their β€˜Drop Down PSHE Day’.

This is in relation to our spring Policing intensification theme for March 2024 - with particular reference to child criminal exploitation, and County Lines.

'County Lines is a form of criminal exploitation - Where criminals and gangs befriend young people, either online or offline and then manipulate them into drug dealing. The β€˜Lines’ refer to mobile phones or social media platforms that are used to arrange the delivery and sale of drugs for the gang by the young people they have befriended.

πŸ”΄ We discussed the following today with the students.

βœ… What does County Lines Mean?  βœ… Where does county lines happen?

βœ… The media. βœ… Spotting the signs-helping a friend!.

βœ… Consequences and the law! βœ… We’re here to help!.

βœ… How to report. βœ… Ways to contact us?.
