Derby City Needle Sweep

The weather was not on our side this morning but PCSO Kenny, PCSO Blackmore, PCSO Saxton and PCSO Baldwin still carried out and worked together as a team with our city centre Business Improvement District (BID), City Centre Public Protection Officers, St Peters Quarter Rangers and Street Pride.

We spent a couple of hours going around the “Hotspot” areas for drug taking and retrieved well over 50 needles and disposed of them in the sharps boxed we have with us.

We are constantly monitoring these areas to keep our city a safer place for the public who visit, the residents and also our local businesses.
