(Please see the pictures below) After reading the letter, please see steps below on how to keep yourself safe.
REMEMBER- IF YOU RECEIVE A LETTER FROM A COMPANY YOU ARE ACTUALLY INSURED WITH, THIS COULD STILL BE A SCAM!!
If you receive a scam letter that appears to be from Churchill Insurance or any other company, it’s important to take immediate action to protect yourself. Here’s what you should do: 1. Do Not Respond: Avoid replying to the letter, or calling any phone numbers provided. Scammers may try to use this contact information to steal personal details or money. 2. Verify the Source: Contact Churchill Insurance directly using a verified phone number from their official website. Do not use any contact details from the suspicious letter. Confirm whether the letter is legitimate or if it is indeed a scam. 3. Report the Scam: If the letter is confirmed to be a scam, report it to the relevant authorities: • Action Fraud (UK): Report the scam online via the Action Fraud website or by calling 0300 123 2040. They can investigate the matter further. • Local Police: If you believe you’ve been targeted or scammed, file a report with your local police department. • Trading Standards: You can also report the scam to Trading Standards via their website, which helps protect consumers. 4. Keep a Copy of the Letter: Retain the letter as evidence. Take photographs or make copies of it to assist authorities in their investigation. 5. Monitor Your Accounts: Be vigilant and monitor your bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial information for any unusual activity. Consider contacting your bank or financial institution if you have concerns about your security. 6. Warn Others: Share information about the scam with family, friends, and colleagues to raise awareness and prevent others from falling victim to the same fraud. By taking these steps, you can help protect yourself and others from falling victim to scams. | ||||
