Parking Outside Schools - Zig-Zag Lines

Glossop SNT - Parking Outside Schools - Zig-Zag Lines

Is it illegal to park on zig-zag lines outside schools?

We would like to remind you of the importance of parking safely and considerately outside schools in our area.

It is important to note that parking on zig-zag lines outside schools is not only in violation of Rule 243 of the Highway Code, but it can also pose serious safety risks for pedestrians, particularly parents and children trying to cross the road.

While it may not always be an offence to park on the zigzag lines, drivers who do park there could be committing an offence of causing an obstruction. This can lead to visibility issues and potential accidents, putting the safety of our community at risk.

We urge those who pick up and drop off children by car at or near our local schools to park legally or in designated areas, respecting all pedestrians, parents with children, and other road users.

Let us all work together to ensure the safety of our streets and prevent any tragedies from occurring. Please remember to follow the rules and regulations, and always think of others when parking outside schools.

Your cooperation and consideration are greatly appreciated.  So Please

NO Picking Up

NO Dropping Off

NO Parking

NO Excuses
