Action taken to tackle modified cars being driven in an anti-social manner

We have taken action to tackle issues around modified cars being driven in an anti-social manner in Somercotes.

Officers have worked with Amber Valley Borough Council and local landowners to target those causing issues for local people.

This has included implementing a Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) – special powers used by the authorities in order to crackdown on anti-social behaviour – that covers the area affected around Nottingham Road.

We have also increased patrols in the area, issued a number of tickets to drivers and given advice to motorists about the manner of their driving. The team understands this has been an issue of concern for local residents.

We would now like to hear the thoughts of people in our community. Do you think our targeted work has made a difference? Have you noticed a reduction in vehicles being driven in an anti-social manner?

You can let us know in the comments section below.
