New parking restrictions on Laburnum Avenue/Park Road.

😎 We have been on Olive Avenue Park this evening with the intention of a community litter pick and pleased to report it's clean! There are two bins on this park - please encourage your children to put rubbish in the bins provided.

You may have noticed restrictions being put in place on the junction of Laburnum Avenue that meets Park Road. We have been doing some work around educating people on safer parking along Park Road especially during the busy school times.

👍🏼 We are pleased to say that the last time we were there at the end of the school day, we noted an improvement to how people were parking - pavements were not obstructed on this occasion 👏🏼

The new yellow line markings have been put in place by Derbyshire County Council on this junction:
The nearest you can park to a junction is 10 metres (or 32 feet).
This is to allow drivers emerging from, or turning into, the junction a clear view of the road they are joining. It also allows them to see hazards such as pedestrians or cyclists at the junction.
Double yellow lines means there is no waiting at any time.

Remember, when you park, always stop and think if you have parked in a safe way which wouldn't cause an obstruction to pavement users and other road users, (and most importantly, safety for the children!).
