Three men arrested in connection with murder in Derby

Three further arrests have been made in connection with the killing of Dale Martin in the city.

On Sunday 15 June at 11.45pm officers were called to Stenson Road in Derby following reports that a man had been assaulted.

Dale Martin, known to his family and friends as DJ, was fatally stabbed.

The 21-year-old from Derby was pronounced dead shortly after the incident at hospital.

A 16-year-old boy, 22-year-old man and 26-year-old man have all been arrested today, Tuesday 17 June, on suspicion of murder.

Four other people, two men aged 18 and 20 and two women aged 18 and 54, were earlier arrested in connection with the incident and have since been released on bail.

Detective Chief Inspector Claudia Musson who is leading the investigation said: “The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Dale is still very much ongoing.

“We are keen to speak to the occupants of a Renault Megane which was seen in the area of Stenson Road. The occupants are believed to have witnessed the incident.

“Another young life has been lost and we are keen to speak to anyone who has any information that would assist our enquiries. I am appealing directly to the public to come forward and talk to our officers or call the independent charity CrimeStoppers where information can be passed anonymously.”

We are also investigating a linked incident that took place outside The Oaklands pub on Oaklands Avenue in Littleover earlier in the evening.

At around 6pm officers were called to reports of men carrying knives. No one was injured at this location.

We would like to speak to anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage around that time in the area of Oaklands Avenue.
