Drug Dealer stopped in Pinxton

On 5th February 2025, officers from Derbyshire Police stopped a vehicle on Town Street, Pinxton. The driver, Matthew Nelmes of Whatall, Nottingham, was arrested on suspicion of drug offences.

Following the arrest, a search of Nelmes' property uncovered a cannabis grow, further quantities of Class A drugs, and a significant amount of cash.

Nelmes was remanded into police custody and appeared in court the following day. He was charged with:

He received a 21-month prison sentence, suspended for 2 years, and was ordered to complete 120 hours of unpaid work.
