Update from Yesterday.

It was a busy shift yesterday for the Safer Neighbourhood Team in the afternoon and into the late evening with officers being involved in school engagements, community engagements, crime enquires and arrests plus interviews for jobs.

PCSO Radcliffe in between patrols in Bakewell town centre visited St Anselms for their school summer production of Grease – The Musical, which turned out to be an amazing show and many talented students taking part which the school and parents must be very proud of. During the evening, PCSO Radcliffe was present in the Recreation Ground in Bakewell for the Bass in the Park event which took place and had a great turnout.

During the afternoon and evening, PCSO Boswell conducted crime enquires following a report of business burglary and also spent some time at the youth club in Grindleford then was in Darley Dale conducting patrols around the community.

A male was arrested on suspicion of Possession with Intent to supply following which they were interviewed and bailed pending further enquiries.

The team did receive some good news yesterday regarding an incident from December 2024 following a report of a shoplifting at a local antiques store where a number of jewellery items were reported stolen. Officers from Bakewell SNT attended and arrested the male, recovered stolen property. The male has since been charged with resisting arrest and theft.
