Witness urged to come forward following reported robbery outside shop in Bakewell


We are appealing for a key witness to come forward following a reported robbery outside a shop in Bakewell.

The incident happened outside the Central Co-op Food in Market Street on Thursday, 3 July, at about 8pm.

A teenage boy and girl went into the shop and when they came out the boy was approached by a group of young men or boys.

The group threatened him and told him to hand over some money, which he did.

An 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and released on bail while enquiries continue.   

We understand a member of pubic was nearby and may have witnessed the incident or heard the group talking about what had happened.

Officers would like this member of public to come forward and speak with us about what they saw or heard.
