🛴 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗞𝗕𝗘𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗘𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥𝗜𝗗𝗘 Privately owned e-scooters are ILLEGAL to use on public roads, pavements, and cycle lanes. 

❌ You can buy one—but unless you're on private land with permission, riding it in public could cost you more than you think. 

🚨 Police can seize your e-scooter under the Road Traffic Act. 

💸 You could face fines, points on your licence, or prosecution. E-scooters are classed as motor vehicles, meaning they need: ✔️ Insurance ✔️ MOT ✔️ Tax ✔️ A valid driving licence 

Police officers and PCSOs in Derbyshire will now ‘seize and dispose’ on first interaction with someone using an e-scooter on public roads or footpaths - with no warning. Let’s keep Derbyshire safe.
