This afternoon and this evening the team have been been out and about the Hope Valley dealing with different aspects of neighbourhood policing, from dealing with indivduals who to our surprise don't know how to park, reminder to everyone that double yellow lines which are dealt with by the councils parking enforcement team are enforceable back to a boundary/wall so parking like in this picture will still result in a ticket. Later on we spoke with a number of people who thought their cars are toys and we provided reminders regarding key elements of the Highway Code that seemed to have been overlooked. This was followed by conducting speed checks on the A57 Snake Pass and with the assistance of other motorists signaling to slow down, we were able to effectively reduce the speed of traffic—a preferred outcome compared to issuing tickets, although we will take necessary action when required. To end the shift we pro-actively patrolled around the High Peak side of the Hope Valley, reminder with the darker nights that if you are out to leave a light on as it was very obvious to us who was in and who was out. |
