Today, Officers of your Shirebrook Safer Neighbourhood Team have engaged in a speed check operation around Shirebrook in response to concerns raised by members of the public.
While conducting this operation, four tickets have been issued for speeding offences.
Speed limits are there for a reason, to keep road users and pedestrians safe. You must not drive faster than the speed limit for the type of road and your type of vehicle. The speed limit is the absolute maximum - it does not mean it’s safe to drive at this speed in all conditions.
The main priority of any speed check is to prevent accidents, injuries or deaths on the road and to help keep the community safe; you can help do this when it comes to driving by keeping to the speed limit and driving in a safe manner.
