As it is Halloween night, please becareful when it comes to children having fun and knocking on strangers doors. An appropriate adult has to take responsibilit for looking after any child/teenager trick or treating, however please respect the residents you wish to visit.

Constantly knocking on doors is disrespectful. 

Walking on gardens instead of keeping to paths is disrespectful.

Throwing litter around instead of using bins or even better using your pockets and throwing away litter in your own bins when you return home.

It's not just at Halloween when unexpected callers turn up on your doorstep.

Remember official visitors should always make an appointment beforehand.

Look through the door view or window first.

If you decide to open the door, put your chain or bar on first.

Check the callers details before you let them into your home and telephone the relevant organisation to confirm the callers identity.

Report any suspicious incidents by calling Derbyshire Police on 101 or dial 999 in an emergency.
