🎃 Plenty of Tricks and Treats This Halloween Weekend in Shirebrook! 👻
PC STONE and PC CUTT were out haunting the streets of Shirebrook and surrounding areas this weekend, keeping things safe while others were getting spooky.
🕵️♂️ Friday Frights During foot patrols on Friday, officers spotted a suspicious male who tried to ghost them—sneaking around the back of a building in an attempt to vanish. Unfortunately for him, his game of hide-and-seek ended when he was found lurking behind some building materials. The male was searched under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act, and officers recovered a quantity of cocaine. A further search of the area revealed a stash of cash hidden nearby. Due to the eerie circumstances and what was found, the male was taken in for a more thorough search. He’s since been interviewed, and the case is being referred for a decision.
🚗 Later That Night... The officers swapped their broomsticks—sorry, cars—and headed out in an unmarked vehicle. They encountered a male relieving himself against a building. He was spoken to and reported for breaching the Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO). Not exactly a treat for the community!
🧛♂️ Saturday Shenanigans Back on foot patrol Saturday, PC STONE and PC CUTT spotted two males loitering near a location known for drug activity. Both were searched, but this time the result was a trick—not a treat—as nothing was found. Undeterred, the officers continued their patrol and later detained two more males with known links to drugs. One male attempted to enter an address in a rather panicked state. The reason became clear during a strip search, which revealed over 80 individual wraps of Class A drugs, cannabis, and prescription medication. He was arrested for possession with intent to supply. Enquiries are ongoing, and officers are working toward a charging decision with CPS.
🎃 Busy as a Cauldron on a Full Moon All of this was carried out while progressing other investigations and managing ongoing workloads. It’s been one of the busiest weekends of the year so far—but our officers remain committed to keeping Shirebrook safe, no matter how spooky things get. Stay safe, stay respectful—and remember, not all costumes hide harmless intentions. 🕷️
