Ashbourne Safer Neighbourhood Team- Supporting Respect for Shop Workers Week. We're proud to be working alongside Sainsbury's Ashbourne as part of Respect for Shop Workers Week, a national campaign that raises awareness about the abuse and threats faced by retail staff. Sadly, incidents of verbal abuse and even physical assaults against shop workers are increasing, often linked to shoplifting or frustrations around the cost of living. Behind every uniform is a person simply doing their job, and the impact of such behaviour can be serious, affecting mental health and wellbeing.
We'll be at Sainsbury's Ashbourne on Wednesday12th November ( 8.30am-12.30pm) and Friday 14th November (12.30pm-16.30pm) supporting the campaign. speaking with shoppers, and encouraging everyone to treat retail staff with respect.
If you witness or experience abuse in a store, please report it, every report helps make a difference. Let's all play our part in keeping our shops safe and respectful for staff and customers alike.
