Glossop SNT - Community Speed Watch
PCSO Buller and 2 volunteers from the Hadfield Community Speed Watch team completed an event on Manchester Road, Tintwistle this afternoon, Saturday 15th November - between 1 pm and 2 pm.
The speed limit on this road is 30 mph. During the event the today the number of vehicles who drove passed the team was 1214 of those 8 were recorded driving above 35 mph.
This location had been identified by local councillors and residents of Tintwistle and is one of the Policing priorities for this area.
Community Speed Watch does not enforce the law but those identified as exceeding the speed limit can expect to receive an advisory letter or a personal visit from the police. Community Speed Watch is designed to support the police by making us all aware of the dangers of travelling too fast.
A big thank you from the Safer Neighbourhood Policing team to our 2 volunteers who completed the event this afternoon.
