Operation Sceptre - Knife Crime Focus Week

This afternoon, as part of the national Operation Sceptre week of intensification on knife crime, the team have been out and about in Oakwood conducting a knife sweep across land off Bandy Lane and Dale Acre Way.

Your local Safer Neighbourhood Team officers were joined by Public Protection Officers from @derbycc to conduct the sweep around a small area of woodland. Whilst we are pleased to say that no knives were found, officers did locate a discarded hammer which has been disposed of safely.

This work means that we can check for any discarded knives or weapons and safely dispose of them, keeping them from getting into the wrong hands.
