Abbey ward community meeting update |
||
|
On Monday 24th November the Police, alongside Carmel Ashby and Paul Hezelgrave, Abbey Councillors, and community safety and neighbourhood departments within Derby City Council organised a meeting with local Abbey residents, who wanted to discuss some concerns. It was a productive meeting with a lot of open discussions, and we discussed making them more regular, on this ward, and across those we work on Derby West. Some of the things we discussed we have already actioned:
We did:
You said: You was concerned around hearing about recent burglaries in the area and beyond and feeling safe in your home.
We did: One of our PCSO's, who is trained and accredited in home security will visit your address and construct a Home security survey; a suggestion of how to reduce the risk of a burglar targeting your home through simple measures. This is something we can offer to any resident who requests it.
You said: Speeding, nuisance and abandoned vehicles and anti-social driving on Bedford Street, including a go-kart in the evening. Speed checks to be conducted on Bedford Street at the times mentioned. Abandoned vehicles to be identified and removed if dangerous, or an obstruction. Section 59 warnings issued to anyone driving in an anti social manner. Seizure of vehicles regularly shown to be causing anti social behaviour, or are uninsured.
