🚨 Shirebrook SNT – Drink Driving Awareness 🚨

PC Hague, PCSO Ashton, and the Shirebrook Safer Neighbourhood Team have been actively supporting Derbyshire Constabulary’s “Don’t Drink and Drive” campaign, launched in partnership with the Police and Crime Commissioner.

This initiative encourages everyone to plan ahead during the festive season

whether that means:

✅ Using public transport
✅ Booking a taxi
✅ Having a designated driver
✅ Choosing 0% alcohol alternatives

Tonight, we sadly encountered a drink-driving incident near Sports Direct in Shirebrook. The driver not only caused damage to another vehicle but also refused to provide details. 
Following a breath test, the individual was found to be three times over the legal limit.

A huge thank you to those who witnessed the incident and remained calm while we dealt with the situation.

Our message is clear:
“No matter the temptation, it is never worth it. Please, don’t risk the drive. Plan ahead, know your options, and help us keep everyone safe this Christmas.”
