Scam Parking Message.

Please be aware that we have seen an uplift in the number of scam parking messages which have been sent out to mobile phones. The message will usually say something to the effect of "

Penalty charge notice (PCN): You have an overdue Penalty charge notice (PCN), today is the last day you can get a 50% discount on your fine.
If you do not pay a parking fine issued by your local council within 28 days, court proceedings will be taken against you and you will be liable for further costs.

It will then often ask you enter your registration number. IT IS A COMPLETE SCAM.

Real parking penalty notices are sent out by post. You will be able to check them by obtaining the telephone number for the department and contacting them.
