Quarterly Neighbourhood priorities- Normanton- January- March |
Hello, you may have recently received an email asking you to complete a survey so that we can gather data on what concerns local residents most, and how we can incorporate that into our quarterly priorities. The local policing team have discussed with the Area Inspector these results, as well as our own data, discussions with the community safety partnership and residents and have decide on 3 prirorities for us to focus on over the next 3 months. Towards the end of March i will provide an update on the work we have completed, and ask once again if you would like to complete a survey to begin the cycle gain. Although there are 3 priorities, these will not be our sole focus, or the majority of our time; we still respond dynamically to incidents, tensions and concerns and will have other engagements, events and projects throughout that time; as well as daily business.
The priorities for Normanton for the next 3 months will be: 1: Anti-Social Behaviour caused by drug taking and begging- Lower Normanton Road 2: Anti-Social Behaviour including Drug taking and misuse of Motorbikes- Caxton Park 3: Vehicles causing Anti-Social Behaviour through speeding or nuisance parking
2: Reports of motorbikes, believed by the public to be stolen, being misused on public or greenspaces- driven on footpaths and parks and then occasionally being burnt out. Drug taking, specifically Cannabis, is mentioned as an issue by the community. Increased high visibility foot patrols by the safer neighbourhood team for reassurance and to detect ASB and crime. Engagement events for crime prevention and advice. Intelligence building and intervention work with offenders. Issuance of Community Protection Warnings, Fixed Penalty Notices and dispersals from Public Space Protection Order areas. Engage with Derbyshire Fire and Rescue and West SNT Youth Engagement Team for education and prevention of this issue. 3: Reports of vehicles driving at excessive speeds on various roads. Nuisance parking, especially on Normanton Road and Pear Tree Road due to businesses is often highlighted. PCSO's and PC's from the Neighbourhood team regularly conduct mobile monitoring and enforcement in regularly reported locations with handheld devices. Nursery and primary school visits to engage with young children regarding road safety. Op Safedrive to be conducted at least once a month. Joint patrols with Derby City Council’s Traffic Enforcement Team. | ||
