SNT have conducted and continue to conduct dedicated Town Centre patrols as part of Operation Shango and daily SNT patrols and have dealt with various anti-social behaviour incidents.
We are aware and are tackling the groups that gather and causing issues on the High Street including reports of young persons throwing items from roof tops.
During patrols, numerous persons have been dispersed from the location, arrested, stop searched or fined. We have seized bikes and e-scooters that have been used to cause annoyance and near misses with pedestrians and drivers on the High Street.
A bike was removed from a young male who despite multiple warnings decided to persistently ride up and down on his back wheel with no proper control before failing to stop for police. He has been fined along with others under the public space protection order in place within the town centre area.
