Today, Officers Mitchell and Alnouri from the Force Licensing Team delivered Ask for Angela training to staff at Derby Market Hall, helping to strengthen safety and support for people using the venues. Throughout 2025 and into 2026, the Licensing Team continues to work closely with local businesses across Derby and Derbyshire, delivering Ask for Angela, Vulnerability Awareness, and Active Bystander training. These sessions support staff to confidently recognise and respond to situations where someone may feel unsafe or vulnerable.
In November 2025, three multi‑venue training events were held, reaching around 150 staff members from a wide range of licensed premises and operators across the area. All attendees at today’s session received bespoke Derbyshire Ask for Angela booklets and training materials, designed for use in their own venues. By delivering a consistent message across Derbyshire, these resources help ensure the scheme is clear, effective, and easy to access for both staff and customers.
For more information about the Ask for Angela scheme, or to enquire about training for your premises, please contact the Force Licensing Team. We will continue working with partners to keep our communities safe and welcoming for everyone.
