|
A Royal Mail worker was assaulted and then had packages stolen during an incident in the High Peak.
The incident took place at 11am on Wednesday 17 December in Goyt View, Newtown, and saw the Royal Mail worker, a woman in her 30s, approached by two people, one of who punched her in the stomach, before packages were stolen from her red Royal Mail van.
The two people, who were driving what was described as a white Ford Transit van and appeared to be highway maintenance workers, were described as:
Person 1 – white man, of large build, in his 30s/40s, dark hair, and was wearing a green parker coat, and a black woollen bobble hat. Person 2 – unknown gender, white, in their 30s or early 40s, wearing a grey tracksuit, a yellow hi-viz vest, and a dark coloured baseball cap.
Officers have been following a number of lines enquiry and are now asking for the public’s help to try and identify those involved. Of particular interest are anyone with CCTV or doorbell footage from the area at the time, as well as any drivers with dashcam footage.
