PC Staniforth, from the Clowne Safer Neighbourhood Team, was out on foot patrol when he spotted a vehicle that caught his attention. Following checks, it was confirmed that the vehicle was being driven with no insurance. As a result, the vehicle was seized under Section 165 of the Road Traffic Act, and a Traffic Offence Report has been submitted. ๐ Why is insurance important? Driving without insurance is a serious offence. Insurance is there to protect everyone involved if a collision occurs โ covering injuries, damage, and financial losses. When a vehicle is uninsured, victims may be left to deal with the impact alone, causing unnecessary stress and expense. ๐ฅ Impact on the community Uninsured driving increases costs for lawโabiding motorists through higher insurance premiums and puts other road users at risk. Proactively identifying and removing uninsured vehicles from the road helps improve road safety, promotes responsible driving, and protects our community. Clowne SNT will continue proactive patrols to keep our roads safe and deal with offences appropriately.
