Your local officer has been out and about in the community today, (Monday 26 January). It has been a busy shift so far. Highlights include: Dealt with inconsiderate motorists blocking disabled parking spaces near a local primary school;Tackled a commercial delivery driver who thought it was acceptable to overtake a vehicle on the wrong side of the road, during the busy collection time outside a local primary school;Visited a number of local businesses, shops and restaurants providing crime prevention advice and reassurance;Engaged with young people at two local schools - and discussed (and joined-in) after-school offerings at Repton Primary School with headteacher Mr. Tague (pictured);Patrolled a location which is sustaining unwanted fly-tipping - speaking with local residents and dealing with suspicious drivers;Visited a new skate park in a local village;Provided target hardening advice to a property owner in a rural, isolation location;Visited a children's home, taking time to speak with care staff;Gathered intelligence about suspected drink and drug drivers in the community;Responded to a report of a vulnerable person stood on a bridge over a busy roadway; andCompleted patrols in villages throughout the Mercia policing beat area. Further patrols by Mercia Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) will continue after-dark tonight. Thank you.
