Community spirit helps to reopen Newton Road following fallen tree |
||
|
Mercia Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) responded to a report of a fallen tree, near Newton Solney, this morning (Friday 6 February).
Wet weather and blustery winds had led to the tree falling into the carriageway at Newton Road, near Bladon House School.
The road was partially blocked, with debris present in both directions.
Your local officer engaged with a local tree maintenance company, who kindly volunteered to assist with the clear-up of the largest branches.
Their sterling efforts ensured the road could reopen.
Highways will be attending the location to make an assessment of the fallen branches and tree.
Thanks to this amazing community-spirit by local tree surgeons this morning the road was reopened very quickly - all helping to ensure local motorists could continue with their journeys to school and work.
