Lunch Time Drop-in Session at St Philip Howard CVA, Glossop - Monday 9th February

Glossop SNT - School Engagement/Lunch Time drop-in Session

PCSO Buller of the Glossop Youth Engagement Team (YET) completed a lunch time drop-in session at St Philip Howard Catholic Voluntary Academy, Sunlaws St, Glossop,  today Monday 9th of February.

The visit was completed during lunchtime at the school -  which is held between 1.20 pm and 2.00 pm. By completing these type of engagements, undertaken with the students, they allow the Police to obtain their views, concerns, and challenges - in a more informal and relaxed atmosphere.

It was also a perfect opportunity once again to complete our Derbyshire Talking Youth Surveys with some of the young people during their lunchtime today.

Our Youth surveys, aimed at secondary age young people, allow the team to learn if they feel safe or not , where this could be in our area and any specific times they feel unsafe there and why.

The survey also includes asking if they could make decisions what would they put in place? - whats missing, whats needed? for young people here in Glossopdale . 

And lastly what method of communication is the best way (they think) for information to be shared with young people eg Whats app - instagram - Snap Chat etc.

A big thank you from the Youth Engagement Team to the headteacher Mr Michael Kays and all of the school staff for allowing these visits - and lastly to all of the students, particularly those who engaged with the team and those who participated by completing the youth surveys.
