CCTV image of man released following attempted rape in Derby

We have released a CCTV image of a man we are tracing in connection with an attempted rape in Derby.

The incident happened when a man approached a woman, forced her down and attempted to rape her in Bass’ Recreation Ground between 11.56pm on Saturday 8 November and 4am on Sunday 9 November last year.

The suspect is described as a black man about 5ft 9ins tall, who was wearing a cream t-shirt and either shorts or jogging bottoms.

Officers have made extensive enquiries as part of our investigation and we are now turning to the public for assistance.

We have released a picture of a man who was seen in the area around the time of the offence.

We appreciate the picture is not the clearest but we are hoping someone may be able to come forward with information about the man’s identity.
