🌿 You grow, We mow! 🌿 On Monday, officers from the Shirebrook Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT), supported by neighbouring SNT colleagues, executed a Section 23 Misuse of Drugs Act warrant at a property in Pleasley. After gaining entry, officers discovered that the three‑bedroom house had been completely converted for the cultivation of cannabis. Several rooms were filled with plants and growing equipment. Specialist forensic officers and a drugs expert witness attended to carry out detailed enquiries and support the ongoing investigation. The plants have now been removed and will be destroyed. The estimated value of the grow is around £60,000. While the post may sound light-hearted, the issue is far from it. Cannabis grows are often linked to organised crime and can involve dangerous electrical bypassing, creating serious fire risks for neighbouring homes. These setups can also be connected to violence, anti-social behaviour, and the exploitation of vulnerable people. By identifying and dismantling cannabis farms, we protect our communities, reduce criminal profit, and help keep neighbourhoods safer and more resilient. If you have information about drug activity in your area, please report it to us via the usual channels. Your information makes a real difference
