The incident happened at the Masons Arms in Etwall Road at about 10.50pm on Saturday 18 October, last year. The victim, a man aged in his 30s, was with friends and family at the pub when he accidentally bumped into another man, spilling his drink. He apologised and offered to buy him another drink before going into the toilets, where he was followed in by the man and another younger man. Whilst in the toilets, the victim was hit on the head with a glass and sustained significant facial injuries. The two men who followed the victim into the toilets are described as follows:- *Man aged in his late 40s to early 50s, about 5ft 10ins tall, with an average build, very short light-coloured hair and with a course skin complexion who was either clean-shaven or had very short stubble. He was wearing a light-coloured beige top. *White man aged in his late 20s, about 5ft 8ins tall, with a slim build and straight, black hair that was two to three inches long and was clean-shaven. Officers have carried out extensive enquiries into this violent and unprovoked attack. A 26-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and released as our enquiries continue.
