|

We have recently had reports of 'cold callers' in the Bakewell area targeting the elderly and more vulnerable adults. Cold callers can include legitimate businesses—but they can also be individuals attempting scams, distraction burglaries, or high‑pressure sales.
If you require a ‘No Cold Callers’ notice for yourself or an elderly relative, please message to let us know or attend one of our crime prevention events.
Here’s how to stay safe and in control at your door. ❌ Stop Never open the door to unexpected callers—use a door chain or spyhole first.

🏠 Never Buy at the Door It’s safer to say:
🚓 Distraction Burglaries Never let anyone into your home unless you're expecting them.
🚩 Red Flags to Watch For Arriving unannounced If it feels wrong—trust your instincts and close the door.
If You’re Worried Report suspicious cold callers to: 🚔 Police (non-emergency): 101 Try to provide: Descriptions. Vehicle details, What they said/did, Time and location
