Brownies and Rainbows visit |
||
Community Visit at Rainbows & Brownies ๐๐ฎโโ๏ธTonight PCSOs Smith and Nugent, alongside PC Brown, had the pleasure of visiting the Rainbows and Brownies group at St Johnโs Church. We were warmly welcomed by a very excited group of young people eager to learn more about policing and the equipment we use to help keep our communities safe. The children had a fantastic time exploring some of the tools we brought along. There were lots of wide eyes when they got to see handcuffs up close, and plenty of curiosity around how a taser works. The flashing lights on the police car were a big hit too โ always guaranteed to bring out smiles! We also demonstrated the stinger device, which sparked loads of great questions about how officers safely stop vehicles when needed. Throughout the evening the children were enthusiastic, engaged, and full of thoughtful questions about our roles, the equipment we use, and how we help people every day. It was brilliant to see so many confident young voices and to share in their excitement. Visits like this are an important part of building trust, breaking down barriers, and helping young people feel comfortable approaching officers in the community. Weโre grateful for the invitation and look forward to future sessions with our fantastic local groups. Thank you to the leaders at St Johnโs Church for having us โ and to the Rainbows and Brownies for making it such a fun and memorable evening! ๐๐๐ #CommunityPolicing #DerbyshirePolice #PCSOs #YouthEngagement #PositivePolicing
