Operation Safe Drive – Friday 20th March

On Friday 20th March, we carried out Operation Safe Drive on Normanton Road as part of our continued work to tackle dangerous and anti‑social driving.

Operation Safe Drive (Op Safedrive) is where we specifically target:

To do this, we have plain‑clothed officers positioned further up the road. They identify vehicles committing offences and then relay this information to officers in high‑visibility uniform positioned ahead. These officers then safely stop the vehicles as they approach.

During the operation, a total of 16 vehicles were stopped for the following offences:

An e‑scooter was also stopped and seized for having no insurance and no licence.

We remain committed to improving road safety and will continue proactive operations to keep our community safe.
