Safer Neighbourhood Team Inspire Students During Aspirations Month. Our Safer Neighbourhood Team were delighted to visit local schools this month as part of Aspirations Month giving pupils a closer look at what it means to work within policing and to help keep our communities safe. Officers spent time talking with students about the wide range of roles within the Police—from community engagement and problem‑solving to crime prevention and supporting vulnerable people. They shared real examples of how PCSOs and Police Officers work together each day, helping young people understand that policing isn’t just about responding to incidents, but also about building trust, offering support, and working proactively to prevent crime. Pupils had the chance to ask questions, explore the equipment we use, and learn more about the skills needed to work in policing—such as teamwork, communication, resilience, and compassion. It was fantastic to see so many young people engaged, curious, and enthusiastic about the idea of a future career in public service. Thank you to all the staff and students who welcomed us so warmly. We’re proud to support Aspirations Month and to encourage the next generation to aim high, believe in themselves, and consider a rewarding career helping others. If your school would like a visit from your local Safer Neighbourhood Team, please get in touch—we’d love to hear from you! |
