3 vehicles stopped off-roading and reported

Yesterday afternoon, we responded to several reports regarding nuisance 4x4 vehicles operating off-road in the Winhill area of Hope, specifically racing around the trig point. We parked on The Brinks and undertook a thorough search, walking all the way to the summit of Winhill in an effort to locate these vehicles, but initially found no signs of them.

However, as we were preparing to leave the area some time later, a member of the public alerted us from their property, indicating that the vehicles were descending back down towards us. We returned to the site and successfully located three Land Rover Discoveries coming down the restricted route.

All three drivers from the Chesterfield area, will be reported and will face penalties, including points on their licenses and a fine.

This is a concern for many in the Valley and would encourage residents to keep on reporting at the time it occurs and if safe to take a picture and get the vehicles registration number.
