Update Regarding Quarterly Priorities |

This update outlines the progress made on the community priorities set for your area by the Local Policing Inspector John TROUP in collaboration with the Safer Neighbourhood Supervisors, Sgt Chris GRANT and PCSO Supervisor Karl MILLWARD. Community priorities are reviewed and set on a quarterly basis, guiding the focus of the Safer Neighbourhood Team’s activity, in this update, you’ll find: New priorities are determined by analysing local crime trends and incorporating feedback from you, the community, through engagement events, surveys and direct contact. SNT AREA – Matlock and Tansley The previous priorities were: - Action Taken: In relation to Speeding, we have conducted frequent high-visibility speed checks in various locations on Chesterfield Road which has led to an overall decrease in speeding in the area and positive action taken through numerous traffic offence reports (TORs) and notice of intention of prosecutions (NOIPs) issued. PCSO’s have also visited one of the local schools to deliver a presentation around road safety. In relation to Shop Theft, we have led on enforcement activity by conducting both high-visibility and plain clothed patrols in the supermarkets and Town Centre to reduce and deter shoplifters. This has led to several arrests with suspects being charged to court, out of court disposals, community resolutions and even resulted in a prolific shoplifter being sentenced to 52 weeks in prison. In relation to Drugs, our Safer Neighbourhood Team has carried out several successful stop searches resulting in positive detections for drug offences. Offenders have been dealt with through a combination of out of court disposals, and formal charges, depending on circumstances. One notable incident highlights the importance of reporting information to us. We recently received intelligence regarding a local drug dealer, we have then acted on this information leading to the arrest of the suspect, a search of their address and subsequently the seizure of drugs and their devices. This investigation is still ongoing, but we will publish the result once the investigation has been completed.
