Keeping Normanton Safe At Night |
||
|
WHEN THE SUN GOES DOWN, WE DON’T
Normanton After Dark | Keeping Our Community Safe Last night, while most were heading home, PCSOs ALVEY and LAWSON were out on patrol across Normanton, making sure our streets stayed safe after sunset.
Targeted patrols took us through known drug-dealing hotspots including Mount Carmel Street, Empress Road and Mill Hill Lane—because visibility matters and presence makes a difference.
On Mount Street, we stopped to speak directly with local residents about anti-social behaviour and what we’re doing—both on patrol and behind the scenes—to tackle ongoing concerns. Your voices matter, and we’re listening.
We then headed over to St Chads Road, an area where we’ve received multiple reports of reckless and dangerous driving. Roads should be safe for everyone—day or night.
As the night drew on, we checked Normanton Park, making sure it remained a safe space even after dark, before patrolling through the Cavendish and back to the nick.
Dealing with community concerns is what we do every day. Sometimes you’ll see us out and about; other times the work happens quietly in meetings, planning smarter and stronger solutions.
We know a walk might not sound dramatic—but being visible, approachable, and present in the areas that matter to you is how real change starts.
Where would you like to see us patrol next? What issues matter most to you right now?
