Yesterday, responding to reports from the community about speeding vehicles on the Brayfield Road area of Littleover, PCSO's have been out conducting speed checks on Brayfield Road and Littleover Lane.
During the early evening, 78 car's speeds have been checked and the highest speed recorded was 32 MPH.
In order to carry out the checks we need to be in a highly visible position as a deterrent, this was not about catching people out, but as a deterrent and to educate.
Further checks will take place at different times in the Littleover area, with speeding drivers being given warning letters.
If we record consistent speeding, then enforcement action will be taken.
