SPEED OPERATION |
||
|
Hi everyone, The "Fatal Four" are the primary causes of serious and fatal road collisions: speeding, drink/drug driving, using mobile phones (distraction), and not wearing seatbelts. These preventable, conscious decisions account for a high percentage of road casualties, prompting targeted police campaigns. Some areas now include a fifth, "careless/inconsiderate driving". This afternoon a speed operation was conducted by the Swadlincote SNT around the area of Spring Cottages at Overseal and Cauldwell Road, Linton. We had a fail to stop whereby the driver is now being prosecuted for this matter and also for dangerous driving in OVERSEAL. No other drivers came to our attention. On Cauldwell Road , Linton - There was two speeders, one other driver reported for driving with a revoke driving licence and several drivers not wearing seatbelts, as well as one driver on their mobile phone. Tickets completed. Two HGVs were stopped also, as these rural areas have a 7.5W restrictions unless access for deliveries or pick ups. Both, I'm pleased to say, had proof of their access. Thanks for your attention and please reduce your speed. #fatal4
