Community litter pick in Chapel by local primary school |
||
|
This afternoon, the Chapel Primary School Safer Mentors were out around Chapel‑en‑le‑Frith taking part in a community litter pick
This activity was delivered through joint partnership working between Chapel Primary School, the Chapel Safer Neighbourhood Team, and High Peak Borough Council, supporting young people to take pride in their local area and play an active role in caring for their community.
The Safer Mentors raised concerns about the amount of litter they regularly see locally and asked if they could become involved in tackling the issue themselves. This proactive approach was fully supported as a positive example of community responsibility and engagement.
A big thank you to HPBC Cllr Kath Sizeland, who kindly arranged all of the equipment and took time to speak with the pupils about the importance of looking after our environment and shared spaces
It was great to see young people, partners and local representatives working together to make a positive difference, and we couldn’t have asked for better weather on the day
The Safer Neighbourhood Team and High Peak Borough Council will continue to work closely with schools and partners to support initiatives that promote community pride, respect and responsibility. @HighPeakBC
