Appeal launched following reports of paraglider getting into difficulty above Belper |
||
|
An appeal for information has been launched following reports that a paraglider has gotten into difficulty above woodland in Belper. We received reports concerning the safety of a paraglider and that they may have ended up in Crich Lane Woods at about 8pm this evening (Friday 24 April). A comprehensive search of the area has been launched involving officers, supported by the National Police Air Service and mountain rescue team. We are appealing for anyone who saw a paraglider in difficulty to please contact us. Officers would also like to hear from anyone who may have been driving along the A6 at the time and may have dashcam footage of the incident. In addition, we are interested to hear from anyone who lives close to Crich Lane Woods and has CCTV or Ring doorbell footage. Officers would also like to hear from any local paragliding groups or anyone else who knows of someone who may have gone paragliding in the area this evening. We would kindly ask that members of the public please refrain from conducting their own searches at this time so as to not interfere with the organised search being conducted by emergency services. Anyone with information is asked to contact us using one of the methods below and please quote incident number 1062 of 24 April. You can also anonymously contact the independent charity CrimeStoppers, on 0800 555 111, or by visiting the CrimeStoppers website. | ||
