Safety Advice

Dear residents,

We've recently had to attend the old abandoned Albert Looms car scrapyard on Megaloughton Lane in Spondon. There have been several teenagers on the site when we attended. They've ran from us, so unfortunately we've not been able to identify them. If we do find anyone on the site, we will be taking them home to their parents for them to explain what they were doing on the site.

In the meantime, if you know of anyone who has been on the site, or has mentioned they know of people who have been on the site. Could you have a conversation with them about how dangerous the area is. There's lots of sharp objects on the ground, shattered glass on the ground and hidden dips around the area. If someone was to have an accident on the site, we may not know they are there, and we may not be able to find them. These sites are extremely dangerous and hazardous. It may look appealing to teenagers to wander around and make a den inside, but it is very dangerous.
