Glossop YET - Round up of activities by the Glossop Youth Engagement Team
On Tuesday 28th April PCSO Buller, from Glossop YET had been invited to attend St Mary's CVA Primary School, Gladstone St, Glossop - this was to complete an input on 'Shattered' - Derbyshire Constabularies bespoke Knife Crime Awareness input with their Ladybower class (yrs 5 & 6 ).
This was In preparation for the upcoming 'Operation Sceptre' the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC) recurring national policing initiative for England and Wales - focused on reducing knife crime through intensive, coordinated action and by educating young people on the dangers of carrying knives.
We discussed the definition of knife crime and how it is never acceptable to carry a knife. We also talked about the dangers and consequences of carrying a knife and how to keep yourselves and others safe.
🔵How to report ☑️ Tell a trusted adult - Teacher/Parent/Police ☑️ Be Fearless - Fearless - www.fearless.org - an online reporting tool for young people that is 100% anonymous- Always ☑️ Local Police on 101 - 999 in an emergency
Glossop YET would like to thank the headteacher Mrs Rudd, including Mrs Pasiecznik for accomodating our visit this week - but just as importantly thank you to all of the young people from Ladybower class who asked some great questions - they enjoyed and engaged very well during the session/workshop. #SchooEngagement #StMarysCVAGlossop #Shattered #OperationSceptre #Fearless #MakingDerbyshireSaferTogether
