Glossop SNT - Community Engagement/Youth Engagement
This afternoon, Sunday 3rd May, PCSO Buller from Glossop Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) took the opportunity to utilise the electric powered Police bicycle to patrol and visit our local parks.
First stop was to call in at Manor Park, Glossop. The park today was well attended with lots of families, young children, dog walkers and visitors all enjoying this lovely local amenity during this long bank holiday weekend Sunday afternoon.
After that it was then onto Howard Park - a lot quieter and very peaceful, although Glossop swimming baths looked busy.
Onwards and upwards as they say - then the steady ride over Dinting Lane towards Hadield to visit Bankswood Park, Hadfield. The Bump track there was very busy, with lots of young bikers, including some coming from as far away as Manchester to use it.
Lastly two further visits, first to Chapel Lane Park, Hadfield, where there were some youngsters chilling on one of the benches - we had a quick chat - then quickly onto the Park at Newshaw Lane - with only a few youngsters using the small skateboard track and play equipment, before the ride back into Glossop.
However we also have our Community Voice survey that has now replaced and refreshed our previous ‘Derbyshire Talking’ survey, which you can complete on-line.
If you wish - you can complete the survey via our community messaging system, Derbyshire Alert: https://derbyshirealert.co.uk/Content/Pages/Community-Voice
The surveys are then used by our local Police teams to set their local Policing priorities and enables us to work with our partners to tackle the issues that matter the most to our communities.
The team as always are there to engage with all members of the community - ‘its good to talk - but equally to listen’.
