#Appeal | ASB appeal around the use of Meadow Lane Footbridge by off-road bikes.
We are issuing an appeal to members of the public around the use of the Meadow Lane footbridge and cycle paths.
This follows repeated concerns that have been raised relating to members of the public riding off-road and electric bikes in a dangerous manner including riding along pavements at speed.
It is an offence under Section 34 of the Road Traffic Act to ride a mechanically propelled vehicle including off-road bikes and non-compliant electric bikes on these footbaths.
Riders face fines and seizure of their bikes by police.
