Mini mart visited by Trading standards and police on Fairfield Road.

Buxton neighbourhood team assisted by officers from Trading Standards attended a Mini mart on Fairfield Road, Buxton today.

Joint operations between Trading Standards and the police frequently target high street mini marts to crack down on illicit trade in counterfeit cigarettes and tobacco when they receive information that supports this.
Today it was a positive visit, with cigarettes being seized along with other evidential items.

Illicit tobacco and cigarettes bypass all legal taxes and safety rules. 
This illegal trade costs governments billions of pounds in lost revenue, funds organized crime, undercuts honest shopkeepers, and harms public health by making cheap, unregulated products easily accessible to children.
